Tommy Duren is the visionary behind the Georgetown Landscaping Company. Started in 1947 in Georgetown, DC, by his grandfather as Laney Duren's Landscaping Company of Georgetown, Tommy revived the company with new energy and vision in 2014.

 

As one of the area's most celebrated creative persons, Tommy realized his love of landscape design while in Tokyo, Japan, while on his own World Tour as a puppeteer. For many years, Tommy has developed his craft and knowledge of gardening passed down through generations and learned through vigorous informal study.

His work has been featured and celebrated across the Washington, DC/Metropolitan area. His philosophy is simple: "To bring the peace and majesty of our natural environment into our daily lives in ways that add to our own joy and serenity." Tommy accomplishes this through the use of color, shape, texture, scent, and sound. His favorite work frequently includes koi ponds and rock.

It is through The Georgetown Landscaping Company that he expresses his artistic self and, in doing so, he hopes to leave a mark on the people and the world for a decade to come.
